Description
The Nestling program at SHIELD Mentor Program is designed for returning 5th - 6th graders who are eager to make a positive impact in their community. Through mentoring clusters, youth participants will actively engage in various community initiatives such as homelessness prevention, childhood literacy, sustainable foods, and more.
This program provides an opportunity for participants to develop their leadership skills while working collaboratively on meaningful projects. They will create action plans, contribute to community service projects, and actively participate in a dedicated Day of Service.

The Golden Eagle program at SHIELD Mentor Program is specially designed for returning 7th - 8th graders who are ready to take their leadership skills to the next level. This program focuses on developing public speaking and public service skills, empowering participants to become exemplary leaders within their community.
Through engaging activities and workshops, youth participants will learn the art of speech writing and hone their public speaking abilities. They will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete in a stimulating public speaking competition, where they can demonstrate their leadership and communication talents.

The Bald Eagles program at SHIELD Mentor Program is designed for returning 9th - 10th graders who are ready to explore the world of entrepreneurship and financial management. This program focuses on cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset and equipping participants with essential skills to succeed in the business world.
Youth participants will have the opportunity to develop their business acumen by creating a business or personal plan. They will learn the fundamentals of budgeting and financial management, gaining valuable insights into money management strategies.
To showcase their learning, participants will develop professional marketing materials and present their ideas through a mock business plan. They will have the chance to demonstrate their creativity, critical thinking, and persuasive communication skills.
The culmination of the Bald Eagles program is the Business Fair & Retail Booths, where participants can put their entrepreneurial skills to the test. They will have the opportunity to showcase their products or services, interact with customers, and gain hands-on experience in running a business.

Soaring Eagle
(for returning 11th - 12th Graders)
Description
The Soaring Eagle program at SHIELD Mentor Program is designed for returning 11th - 12th graders who are ready to take on leadership roles and shape the future of the organization. This program focuses on honing leadership skills, exploring career options, and planning for the future.
Youth participants will have the opportunity to serve on the youth leadership board, where they will actively contribute to decision-making processes and provide valuable insights to shape the direction of the organization. Through this experience, they will develop crucial leadership and teamwork skills that will benefit them in their academic and professional lives.
In addition, participants will have the chance to engage in on-site visits to local businesses. These visits will provide them with real-world exposure to different industries, career paths, and workplace environments. By interacting with professionals in various fields, they will gain insights into potential career options and build their professional networks.
As part of the Soaring Eagle program, youth participants will also engage in career and future planning activities. They will receive guidance and resources to explore their passions, set goals, and develop a comprehensive plan for their future endeavors, whether it be pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or starting their own ventures.
