Greensboro Science Center Event - July 15:
We are delighted to announce our collaboration with the Greensboro Science Center (GSC), offering an incredible opportunity for our program participants to explore and learn in a dynamic and interactive environment. The group visit to the GSC will provide access to a wide range of exciting experiences, including the new Cole Family Monarch Conservation Center and Butterfly House, the immersive OmniSphere Theater, and thrilling Adventure Theater shows. Additionally, there are additional experiences available for scholarship funding, such as the exhilarating SKYWILD treetop aerial adventure ropes course, the breathtaking FLYWAY zipline across Lake Sloan, and the beloved Rotary Club of Greensboro Carousel with its unique animal characters. The SHIELD Mentor Program proudly commemorates its 15th year of empowering young people and transforming lives through mentorship. SHIELD Mentor Program AAMASE Sessions - August 7-18:
From August 7 to August 18, the SHIELD Mentor Program is excited to offer the AAMASE sessions. This co-design program is specifically designed to introduce Black young girls to STEM careers and entrepreneurship through a makerspace setting. These sessions are completely free and will empower participants while nurturing their love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Limited spots are available, so don't delay!
