Building the Leaders of Tomorrow: The SHIELD Youth Leadership Council is a unique program aimed at high school students who are committed to personal growth, community service, and leadership development. Whether you have previous leadership experience or are just starting your journey, this council provides an ideal setting to enhance your skills, foster meaningful connections, and leave a lasting impact on your community.
Engaging and Impactful Activities: As a council member, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to initiatives that drive positive change. Through engaging in-person meetings held every Thursday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, you will collaborate with fellow members, plan events, and discuss objectives that align with our shared mission. These meetings will not only enhance your teamwork and communication abilities but also create a space for innovative ideas to flourish.
Community Service Hours and High School Requirements: One of the notable benefits of joining the SHIELD Youth Leadership Council is the opportunity to accrue a minimum of 24 hours of community service. These hours can be applied towards meeting your high school requirements, making your commitment to the council even more rewarding. Engaging in diverse community service activities throughout the 8-week program will allow you to contribute meaningfully while gaining firsthand experience working with nonprofits and developing a commitment to community service.
