Part of SHIELD’s curriculum is to help participants explore their desired future and set important goals while turning talk into action. LaToya Bush, a former volunteer for SHIELD and Human Resource Consultant, enjoyed sharing with the girls in the program how her ability to start her career in human resources as a intern for a local staffing agency helped her continue her aspirations to further her career in human resources. Tori Gurley, a Wide Receiver for the Toronto Argonauts and in his 5th year of being a professional football player, added to the session to help the young boys in the program understand his road map to becoming a four year NFL veteran spending seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Buffalo Bills.
Chelsea Hughes, a Business administration/communications graduate with over three years of management experience, worked with the program participants to create vision boards.
